The Kawacatoose First Nation recently opened a gas bar in the city of Moose Jaw.

But the land has yet to be declared reserve status.

Rod Favel is the CEO of the community’s development corporation, and says there are 21 steps involved to create an urban reserve.

Favel says they are currently working on a service agreement with the city.

The KFN store — which opened in April — is the only First Nations-owned gas bar in Moose Jaw.

Favel says the First Nation is also working on developing land in east Regina — a medical clinic that may include an MRI.
