Bill C-24 has received Royal Assent.
Introduced earlier this year, the First Nations Certainty of Land Title Act passed through Parliament after receiving support from all parties.
The Act is essentially aimed at giving outside developers some certainty of land title when it comes to developing real estate on reserves.
A band in B.C. says the legislation will make it easier for it to start up some condominium projects in West Vancouver.
Indian Affairs Minister Chuck Strahl says he believes the bill will close down some regulatory gaps that have hampered First Nations developments for far too long.
