RCMP have made an arrest in a homicide dating back almost a decade.
On April 18th, 2001, Alexander Ronald (Ron) Sanderson was found deceased on a grid road on the Mistawasis First Nation.
An investigation was launched, but no suspect was ever charged.
In 2008, the RCMP’s historical case unit reopened the file and re-interviewed several witnesses.
As a result, 31-year-old Curtis Nataucappo has been charged with second-degree murder.
He appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court this morning and is due back in court on August 17th.
