The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority is donating $50,000 to the families affected by the devasting tornado on the Kawacatoose First Nation.

SIGA vice-president of corporate affairs Pat Cook says one of SIGA’s employees is a member of the Kawacatoose First Nation, and is accepting donations on behalf of her community at SIGA’s Saskatoon office.

Cook says a barbecue and 50/50 draw held Friday raised more than $5,000.

Items most needed are non-perishable food, household items, linens and baby items.

Monetary donations can be sent through any Scotiabank to help out the families of Kawacatoose.
