Seventeen new spaces have been created in Prince Albert to help Aboriginal men and women find permanent housing.

The transitional facility was unveiled in the city yesterday.

The Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation is heading up the project.

Chief Darrell McCallum says the band is honoured to be involved in this partnership with the federal government and local agencies.

Support services, case management and housing placements will be offered at the renovated facility.
