Homes Damaged, Destroyed by Fire on Reserve

One house is destroyed and another damaged after two fires on the Muskowekwan First Nation.

The Lestock Fire department responded to a call for assistance from members of the Punnichy RCMP Detachment just before midnight on Sunday.

Both fires were in the main town site and both houses were unoccupied.

Since the fires are considered suspicious, RCMP are investigating.

Muskowekwan is home to approximately 400 people.
