The head of the RCMP was in La Ronge today looking to hear from the community about the service they provide and how they can improve.

Commissioner William Elliot says that he believes that the RCMP’s relationships with First Nations people is all in all fairly good, adding that there is still work to be done, and they are doing what they can to insure that Aboriginal people are represented in the police force.

Elliot adds that he has been working to strengthen relationships with first nations across the country.

In the meantime, Elliot was quick to downplay reports that some people in the force are looking to have him removed as head of the force, saying that he is looking forward to sitting down with the concerned parties.

Elliot has been all over the headlines this week with some people calling for his resignation.
