The Green Party is slamming the new minister of Indian Affairs for not recognizing the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.

Green Party Leader Elizabeth May says she’s surprised John Duncan didn’t make any public statements to acknowledge the occasion.

Last week, Duncan replaced former minister Chuck Strahl on the Indian Affairs file.

A critic with the Green Party says she hopes Duncan’s silence isn’t an indication of things to come.
