Pinehouse RCMP say a woman reported missing after a canoe trip has been located alive and well.
On Sunday, police received a complaint of a missing boater at Besnard Lake.
A 25-year-old woman from Beauval had departed the previous evening in a canoe for an eight-hour canoe trip to a remote lake lodge.
After confirming that the canoeist never made it to the lodge, a search was initiated on Besnard Lake.
The Mounties say the canoeist was blown off course and took shelter on a remote island for the night.
She was seen paddling to shore on Monday after weather conditions had subsided.
The canoeist was not hurt and didn’t require medical treatment.
