SK Workers Making More Money

Workers in Saskatchewan have more money to spend these days.
According to the provincial government, average weekly earnings for June of this year increased by 4.6 per cent over last year.
That means the average weekly earnings for a Saskatchewan worker is $838 a week.
Minister responsible Ken Cheveldayoff says the province continues to see strong economic indicators in the workforce.
The statistics don’t break down geographically.
However, Cheveldayoff says he’s confident Northern Saskatchewan is contributing to the rise.
Chevaldayoff says employers in Saskatchewan are being forced to pay competitive wages to hire workers, a big reason for the increase.
