The RCMP is confirming that an officer has been disciplined for discharging his weapon in the Pinehouse area.

Sgt. Paul Dawson says Cst. Lance Bouvier was subjected to two separate processes as a result of the incident.

According to the Postmedia News Service, Bouvier was at a house party on October 28th, 2007 when he climbed into a truck with two male civilians.

The three drove to a section in the woods where Bouvier got out and began firing shots with his sidearm.

Later, he allowed civilians to fire his weapon.

Bouvier was charged with careless use and transportation of a firearm, and he was docked 10 days pay.

Dawson says Bouvier was given a conditional discharge and he remains an officer — but adds the cut to Bouvier’s pay was the harshest penalty available, short of termination.

Dawson adds he is not certain where Bouvier is stationed now.
