Aboriginal peacekeeping programs in Saskatchewan are receiving international attention.
Insp. Les Bulluss is from the Thursday Island Police Service in Australia.
Bulluss says he is visiting Aboriginal peacekeeping programs to improve community policing in his own country.
He says that Australia and Canada have a similar history in regards to Aboriginal people — including residential schools.
Bulluss was at the File Hills First Nations Police Service this morning, and was in Regina earlier this week with stops at the RCMP Depot and SIAST’s Aboriginal Policing Program.
His next stop is Ontario.
