Suspect In Fatal Hit And Run Released From Custody

A 19-year-old woman charged in a fatal hit-and-run just outside La Ronge is back in court on November 10th.
RCMP say Sheena Billette was arrested after a pedestrian was hit and killed early Saturday morning.
A 21-year-old Pinehouse resident was walking on Highway 102 between La Ronge and Air Ronge at around 5:15 a.m. when he was struck and killed by a passing vehicle.
He has been identified as Carl Lance Smith.
An RCMP traffic analyst was brought in to assist with the investigation, and an autopsy is scheduled for today.
RCMP say the suspect is charged with impaired driving causing death, operation of a motor vehicle over .08 and failing to remain at the scene of the accident.
She has been released from police custody pending her next court appearance.
