A man said by a judge to have the “worst criminal driving record anywhere” has been sentenced to four years and seven months in jail.
North Battleford Provincial Court Judge David Kaiser imposed that sentence on 58-year-old Ambrose George Wright on Thursday.
After he gets out of jail, he will be on probation for five years.
Wright was arrested in North Battleford on May 23rd after he drove out of a liquor store parking lot and stopped at a green light.
He failed a breathalyzer test.
Kaiser said Wright’s record includes 21 drunk driving offences and 17 driving while disqualified offences.
His record also includes two convictions for dangerous driving and one for failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
