Boating Accident Claims Lives Of Two Northerners

Two residents of La Ronge are dead after their boat capsized over the weekend on Bittern Lake.

The accident happened sometime between Friday morning and Saturday night.

It is believed the 42-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were attempting to cross the lake, but their boat went down due to high winds.

Both of the boaters drowned.

The Montreal Lake RCMP are looking into the incident and notifying the families.

No names have been released.
