A young boy from the Muskoday First Nation is heading into surgery tomorrow.

Eight-year-old Malcolm Bear is battling a rare condition that makes the bottom half of his body heavier than the top half.

He has had numerous procedures in the past to help his body cope, but tomorrow he will have part of his feet removed to relieve the pressure.

His mother, Katrina, is in Saskatoon with Malcolm.

She says Malcolm is dealing with the situation as best he can.

She adds the hope is tomorrow’s surgery, which is taking place in Saskatoon, will help stabilize Malcolm’s condition in the long-term.
