Family Survives House Fire On Gordon Reserve

A family on the Gordon First Nation escaped harm from a fire, thanks to their smoke detector.
John McNabb works for the band and says the father and three children — aged 9 to 13 years — woke up to the sound of their smoke alarm going off at 5:00 this morning.
The RCMP and local fire services responded, but the house was completely destroyed.
McNabb says the fire may have started in the basement.
