Woman Dies In Fiery Crash South Of La Ronge

A 24-year-old woman from the Sturgeon Lake First Nation is dead following a two-vehicle collision on the weekend.

 

The crash happened around 6:30 Saturday evening about 50 km south of La Ronge.

 

RCMP say two vehicles collided at the junction of Highways 2 and 165.

 

According to the Mounties, one of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames when emergency personnel arrived.

 

Three people in the northbound vehicle and one in the southbound vehicle were transported to the La Ronge Health Centre.

 

Police say two of them were airlifted to Saskatoon, where the driver of the southbound vehicle died of her injuries.

 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
