Standing Buffalo Chief Re-elected

Chief Rodger Redman will continue on as the leader of the Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation.
Elections were held in the community yesterday.
Redman fended off two challengers to win his fourth consecutive term in office.
He received 196 votes — 77 more than his closest competitor, former band councillor Stella Isnana.
The third candidate, Gwenda Yuzicappi, finished with 44 votes.
Incumbent band councillors Herman Goodpipe, Conrad Tawiyaka and Virgil Bear were all re-elected.
New to council are Rod Isana, Arlen Yuzicappi and Dwayne Redman, Jr.
Terms of office in Standing Buffalo are three years.
