La Loche Mountie Charged With Off-Duty Assault

An RCMP constable from La Loche has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Mounties say the incident occurred on November 6th in Melfort.

That is when 26-year-old Anthony Bear allegedly got into an altercation with a man while off-duty.

Bear was formerly charged last night and will appear in court on December 14th.

He is no longer on active duty.

The RCMP also say an internal code of conduct process has not been ordered in this case.
