More people are speaking out against the federal government’s decision to not further extend funding to the Sisters in Spirit Initiative.
The Saskatchewan Aboriginal Women’s Circle Corporation, a local branch of the Native Women’s Association of Canada, held a press conference today in Saskatoon.
Liberal Senator Lillian Dyck says the federal government is trying to silence Aboriginal women by taking away their voice and their right to use the Grandmother Moon logo.
Dyck encourages people to write to Senators, particularly Aboriginal Senators, as well as to the Liberal critics on Aboriginal and women’s issues: Todd Russell and Anita Neville.
