Cowessess Man Killed In Highway Crash

An elderly man from the Cowessess First Nation is dead following a collision involving an SUV and a semi unit on the Trans-Canada Highway last night.
The crash took place 5 km west of Caronport at around 9:30 p.m.
RCMP say a number of vehicles were stopped on the highway, including a police cruiser with its emergency lights on, when a passing semi rear-ended the SUV.
A 76-year-old male passenger in the smaller vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 69-year-old female driver was taken to Regina hospital in serious condition.
Police say road conditions were icy at the time.
No names have been released.
