Copper Thieves Target Northern Hydro Dam

Sandy Bay RCMP are investigating the theft of a large amount of copper from the Island Falls Hydroelectric Station.
Police say about 2,400 lbs. of copper was taken sometime between June 1st and November 30th.
The copper bars were stored in crates five feet in length and weighing about 150 lbs. each.
The bars are flat pieces of copper and are used to carry electrical current.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the Sandy Bay RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
