The Willow Cree Healing Lodge has a new boss.
Today Trent Mitchell officially became executive director of the minimum-security institution.
Right now 40 inmates live at the centre which uses aboriginal healing traditions to help them back into society.
Mitchell has Metis blood in his ancestry and says that will help him on the job.
Mitchell replaces outgoing director Lawrence Burnouf.
The Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation welcomed Mitchell to his new job with gifts of sweetgrass, moccasins, cloth and an eagle feather.
