Buffalo Narrows mayor Bobby Woods says he thinks his experience will serve him well in the nomination campaign for the Saskatchewan Party.

Woods is facing off against Phil Elliot for the right to represent the party in Athabasca in the next provincial election.

The mayor notes he has been on the front lines for a while now, both in his role as village leader and as the head of New North.

As far as issues go he says infrastructure is a main concern facing Northern Saskatchewan these days.

And Woods feels it would be better to have a member of the Saskparty asking for those things.

Woods adds he thinks the Sask Party is also more receptive to new ideas than the NDP.

The New Democrats’ Buckley Belanger has represented the riding since 1995.
