Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations Chief Guy Lonechild and Senator Roland Crowe discussed the funding arrangement for the FSIN Senate at the federation’s legislative assembly today.
Lonechild says he thinks they need to look at what they are paying to have senators attend various functions.
He says some senators seem to be getting more than others.
In particular, Lonechild says if resources from SIGA are flowing into the Senate budget the breakdown should be looked at.
For his part, Crowe said as far as he knows all the rates are fixed.
However, Sakimay First Nation Chief Lynn Acoose said she still wanted to hear a further breakdown of the Senate budget and its contracts.
