The president of an Aboriginal relations program down east says he’s overjoyed the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations has come on board.
At last week’s winter assembly, the FSIN officially endorsed the Progressive Aboriginal Relations Certification program.
The program is designed to help businesses that want to partner up with Aboriginal communities.
President Clint Davis says Cameco and the Bank of Montreal are two of the Saskatchewan groups already enrolled in the measure.
However, he says the FSIN is the first tribal group west of Ontario to endorse the program, and that in itself is very significant.
Davis says the Metis Nation of Ontario and the group of regional chiefs there have also endorsed the program.
