A 35-year-old Prince Albert man is facing drug charges after police stopped his vehicle in Pinehouse last week.

The RCMP say officers seized a quantity of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia during a vehicle stop on Smith Crescent at around 10:00 p.m. Friday.

The suspect is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as Traffic Safety Act violations related to the operation of his vehicle.

He will be making his first court appearance on April 11th in Pinehouse Lake.

Police say the arrest is part of the ongoing effort to reduce the amount of liquor, drugs and other substances from entering northern communities.
