FSIN Turns 65

Anniversary celebrations took place at Wanuskewin Heritage Park today as the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations marks 65 years of protecting treaty rights.
The FSIN’s predecessor, the Union of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, was formed in 1946 and went on to become the organization it is today.
The Union of Saskatchewan Indian Nations was formed from the Saskatchewan members of the League of Indians of Western Canada, the Protective Association for Indians and their Treaties and the Association of Saskatchewan Indians.
A feast and a round dance began at noon to celebrate the milestone.
