The Cowessess First Nation is getting federal money to help it construct a wind energy project.
Ottawa is giving the First Nation $2.79 million.
The money will be used to build a wind turbine and battery storage system.
The project is designed to show how gusts of wind can be channelled into continuous energy and hopefully heat and light thirty homes on the reserve.
The chief of the First Nation, Grady Lerat, says the wind energy project makes sense from an environmental point of view and a business case.
