Chickens Still Laying Eggs in Camsell-Portage

Chickens are alive and well in Camsell-Portage.
Approximately 18 of the birds are laying fresh eggs for community members these days.
It was over a year ago that the community of 9 people had the birds shipped up.
Claire Larocque is the chairperson of Camsell-Porgage.
She says the closest place to buy eggs is the store at Uranium City.
But during break-up and freeze-up, it’s only possible to travel there by plane.
Laroque says the birds have an area outdoors where they can run free as well as heated bird-coops to keep them warm during cold weather.
