FSIN Chief Guy Lonechild issued a message of healing today at a Health and Wellness Conference in Regina.

He says it’s time to stand together.

Lonechild adds that being a leader is like being a father figure through setting an example and admitting mistakes.

The Chief continues on as leader of the FSIN despite calls for him to step down, the most recent coming from five former chiefs of the FSIN.

Lonechild says he plans to continue serving the First Nations people of Saskatchewan.

In a release sent out late yesterday, the leader says the voice of the FSIN has never been stronger when dealing with government and industry.

Later this month the chief will be sentenced in a Rosthern courtroom on charges of impaired driving and evading police.
