Two men charged with forcibly confining a man at the Pelican Lake First Nation are facing more charges.

The two accused are 47-year-old Francis Hernandez and 27-year-old Larry Thomas.

When each appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court today, the Crown said police are preparing more charges against them.

Hernandez is expected to reappear tomorrow. Judge Dan O’Hanlon appointed a lawyer to appear for him.

But the lawyer hasn’t said if he’ll continue to represent Hernandez beyond that day.

Thomas is remanded to next Tuesday. In the meantime, a bail report on him will be updated. Electronic monitoring has been suggested as a possibility.

RCMP allege that on March 7, Hernandez and Thomas confined and assaulted a man at the Pelican Lake Mall.
