A La Ronge doctor has pleaded guilty to professional misconduct under The Medical Profession Act.
Dr. Nolan Jansen was charged by the College of Physicians and Surgeons following an incident where he approached a colleague with a knife outside of the workplace.
Jansen was criminally charged and pleaded guilty to possessing a knife for a purpose dangerous to the public peace and was sentenced to a conditional discharge.
He has been fined $420 for the professional misconduct to cover the cost of the College’s investigation and hearing into the incident.
Meanwhile, another La Ronge doctor will be facing a hearing to determine if the charges against him are true.
Dr. Kanthan Covenden has also been charged with professional misconduct by the College after a female patient alleged he touched her inappropriately.
Covenden denies the allegations and continues to work in La Ronge.
