The first Aboriginal Community Development Program in Saskatchewan has produced its first graduates.
Nine students have graduated from the one-year certificate program at North West Regional College in North Battleford.
Laurel Sapp of the Little Pine First Nation is one of them.
She says the program is a chance to create change in Aboriginal communities and help them become more healthy and vibrant.
Most of the nine certificate recipients plan to go back for the second year of the program and obtain diplomas.
