Most Homes Rec’d Census: Stats Can

Officials with Statistics Canada say the latest national census is underway and most people should have received a form by now.
Stats Can Western Canada Communications Manager, Sherry Wallace says the questionnaire can be filled out on the internet, over the phone or mailed in.
Wallace says language services are also available for Aboriginal people.
Wallace says census workers go door-to-door on reserves to assist with the forms.
She says the census is an important source of information on First Nations, which is then used by the federal government.
Wallace says returning completed census forms is mandatory , but the long-form census now known as The National Household Survey, is optional.
