Two people from the Gordon First Nation are facing charges following the hospitalization of an eight-month-old boy last week.

On Thursday night, a local Family Services Agency in Punnichy alerted the RCMP to the fact the child was at the Regina General Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The boy’s injuries, located throughout his body, are considered serious but not life-threatening.

Thirty-nine-year-old Bradley Moosemay and 28-year-old Jennifer Moosemay have been charged with aggravated assault and failure to provide the necessities of life.

The RCMP say they are not the boy’s parents, were were entrusted with the child’s care when the boy was injured.

Both suspects were arrested over the weekend at separate locations and are currently in custody.

They will be making their first court appearance tomorrow morning in Punnichy.

The investigation continues.
