A sentence of two years probation has been handed to a woman charged after a suspicious death in La Loche last summer.
On August 9th, RCMP found the body of a 45-year-old man in a backyard outbuilding in the community.
After the initial investigation and an autopsy, police charged 19-year-old Jenelle Montgrand with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
The cause of death has not been released, but investigators say the victim received injuries prior to his death.
Montgrand also received a 10-year firearms ban and must submit a DNA sample.
