Students on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation led a recovery walk today on the reserve.

The event was aimed at bringing awareness to HIV/AIDS, diabetes, chronic disease, drugs, bullying and other issues.

Norma Rabbitskin is a nurse who helped coordinate the event.

She adds the First Nation is working on a number of proactive measures to help deal with social issues.

One of these is a strategy on sexual health.
