Northern Leaders Discuss Physical Activity Levels

A roundtable on recreation infrastructure in northern Saskatchewan continues today in La Ronge.

This morning, some program directors and community leaders made presentations on the successes and challenges they face in creating environments for their communities to stay active.

Duane Favel, mayor of Ile-a-la-Crosse, acknowledges the importance of getting youth active at an early age.

Favel says it takes creativity to motivate the youth to increase their physical activity level.

The roundtable continues this afternoon with more discussions and the unveiling of a new program to increase certification of facility operators.
